PSTrax and LION
What our partnership means for your department

PSTrax has partnered with LION, one of the most established names in fire and EMS PPE, to better support agencies that rely on both companies for personal protective equipment and accountability. This article explains what the partnership is today, what's coming next, and how (or whether) it affects your account.
At a glance
- Type of partnership: Business partnership — PSTrax and LION are aligned as recommended partners to each other's customer bases.
- Product changes today: None. There is nothing new to configure in PSTrax, and no LION-specific features have been released yet.
- What's in development: A future integration that would automatically flow cleaning and advanced gear inspection records from LION into the PSTrax PPE module.
- Who benefits most: Agencies that use LION for PPE and gear maintenance services.
About LION
LION is a leading PPE manufacturer for the fire and EMS industry, founded in 1898 and headquartered in Dayton, Ohio. They produce protective gear and uniforms and operate gear maintenance and cleaning programs used by departments across North America.
What the partnership is today
This is a business partnership, not a product integration. In practice, that means:
- PSTrax and LION will refer agencies to each other as trusted solutions for PPE lifecycle management and accountability.
- The two companies will co-market and appear together at industry events, including FDIC International.
- Customers using both PSTrax and LION today benefit from having two primary vendors that are aligned around the same accountability and NFPA compliance goals.
There are no changes to the PSTrax platform as a result of this announcement. Your account, modules, and workflows continue to work exactly as they do today.
What's coming: the LION integration
The PSTrax and LION product teams are actively scoping a future integration. The intended direction is:
- Cleaning and advanced gear inspection records logged through LION's systems would automatically flow into PSTrax.
- Gear records in the PSTrax PPE module would update automatically — no manual double-entry to keep your PPE records current.
For agencies that already use LION for gear maintenance, this is designed to remove a meaningful amount of manual work and reduce the risk of records falling out of sync between systems.
Timeline: A release date has not been confirmed. We will update this article and notify affected customers as the integration nears release.
Frequently asked questions
I heard PSTrax partnered with LION — what does that mean for me?
PSTrax and LION are now officially aligned to help agencies manage the full lifecycle of their PPE more effectively. Today it's a business partnership focused on co-marketing and joint referrals. We're also actively working on a future integration that would allow inspection and cleaning data from LION to flow automatically into your PSTrax PPE records. We'll share more details as that work progresses.
Will LION's gear maintenance records sync into PSTrax?
That's the goal of the integration that's currently in development. Once released, cleaning and advanced inspection events logged through LION are intended to show up automatically against the corresponding gear records in PSTrax, so your data stays current without double entry. We don't have a firm release date yet.
We're a large LION account — does this matter to us?
Yes. This partnership was built with agencies like yours in mind. Today it means your two primary PPE vendors are working together and speaking the same language around accountability and NFPA compliance. When the integration goes live, it is designed to meaningfully reduce the manual work your team does to keep PPE records current in PSTrax.
We don't use LION gear — does this affect us?
Not in any immediate way. The partnership and the upcoming integration are primarily beneficial for agencies that rely on LION for PPE and gear maintenance. PSTrax continues to invest in PPE lifecycle management and NFPA 1850 compliance across the platform, and you'll continue to see improvements in the PPE module regardless of which manufacturer you use.
Do I need to do anything in PSTrax right now?
No. Nothing in the platform has changed, and there is no setup required. If your department uses LION today, you can continue tracking PPE in PSTrax exactly the way you do now. When the integration is closer to release, we will publish setup steps and let affected accounts know directly.
Will the integration cost extra?
Integration pricing and packaging are still being finalized as part of the scoping work. We'll communicate clearly before the integration is released so you can plan accordingly.
