Logging admin-only PPE events
Log advanced inspections, cleanings, repairs, and more.
Summary
PPE administrators can log advanced inspections, repairs, and other admin-only events directly through the PPE Gear List. This is helpful for documenting vendor inspections, tracking repair history, and ensuring accurate records across your turnout gear.
Instructions
To batch log inspections or events for multiple gear items, use the filters in the Gear List to find the relevant equipment. From there, you can log inspections in bulk, add notes, attach invoices, and reschedule events. For one-off updates like a repair, use the event dropdown under the Details menu of a specific item.
Batch Logging Inspections or Events

Navigate to PPE → Gear List in the navigation panel.

Use the Type filter to search for a gear type (e.g., Jackets).

Select the checkboxes next to the gear items you want to update.

Click Batch Log and choose the appropriate event from the Select an event dropdown (e.g., Advanced Inspection and Cleaning).

Enter the event date (this can be backdated to when the inspection occurred).

Input the cost per piece, not the total inspection cost.

Add inspection notes and any attachments (e.g., vendor invoices or work orders).

Click Log Event to save the inspection.

If the event has an interval (e.g., annually), it will automatically reschedule for the next due date.

Logging Individual Events (e.g., Repairs)

From the Gear List, click the dropdown arrow next to the Details button for an item.

Select Log Event from the dropdown.

Choose the appropriate event (e.g., Repair).

Add any relevant notes, costs, or attachments.

Click Log Event to save the update.

Events like repairs do not reschedule automatically, but can be logged as needed.

Viewing Logged Events

Logged events are permanently recorded with each gear item.

Access this history anytime through the Details page or by going to PPE → Logs and Reports.
