Viewing blood products inventory

See your current and archived blood products inventory.

Summary

The Blood Products Inventory feature provides a comprehensive list of all blood products located across every container within the organization. This view allows users to monitor the status of the current supply while also maintaining a historical record of items that have been removed. It is designed to give clear visibility into product types, locations, expiration dates, and alert thresholds.

Instructions

Users can access the inventory to toggle between active and archived products. The interface allows for detailed customization, enabling you to sort data by critical factors such as expiration dates, filter for specific content, and rearrange columns to prioritize the most important information. You can also save these customized layouts as permanent views and export the inventory lists for external use.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Accessing Inventory

Navigate to Blood Products → Inventory. This screen displays all products across the organization, regardless of the specific container they are stored in.

  2. Viewing Active Products

Select the Active Blood Products tab to see current inventory. This view lists the product type, the associated container, identifying information, and notification thresholds for expiration alerts.

  3. Customizing the Layout

Manage how data is displayed by clicking and dragging columns into a preferred order. You can also use the column selector to hide unwanted data fields. To sort the list, click on a header, such as Expiration Date, to arrange items by those expiring soonest.

  4. Creating Saved Views

Apply specific filters and sorting preferences to create a custom view. Save this view to ensure the specific layout loads automatically every time you log into the platform.

  5. Exporting Data

Use the export tools to download the current inventory list into an Excel document or PDF file for external reporting or offline viewing.

  6. Viewing Archived Products

Select the Archived Blood Products tab to view items that have been removed from inventory. This includes products that were administered to a patient, exchanged with a hospital or blood bank, expired, or wasted. This list provides a historical record of all removed items and grows as the system is used over time.
