Using PINs to authenticate controlled substance transactions
PINs can be enabled to authenticate users when logging controlled substance transactions. Here's how it works:
Summary
The Controlled Substances module in PSTrax offers an optional PIN verification feature that enhances security and accountability. Once enabled by PSTrax, users must set a personal PIN and enter it when logging or witnessing controlled substance events. PINs are private, alphanumeric, and can only be managed by the individual user. This guide explains how to request the feature, set up a PIN, and use it during controlled substance transactions.
Instructions
To improve authentication and security in the Controlled Substances module, users can log transactions using a personal PIN. Once this feature is enabled, each user must set their own PIN to proceed with any CS event, such as arriving checks, quantity verifications, or witnessing transactions. Only users who have created a PIN can be selected as witnesses. Admins can view which users have set their PINs but cannot view or reset the PIN itself.
