Setting up assets alert recipients

Make sure the appropriate users are set to receive notifications when issues occur.

Summary

Alert recipients in the SCBA, PPE, and Assets modules are the users who receive email or text notifications whenever an issue, malfunction, or discrepancy is found during inspections. These recipients can be customized by gear type to ensure the right people are notified for the right equipment.


Instructions

To configure alert recipients in the equipment modules, navigate to Settings and choose either PPE, SCBA, or Assets, depending on which module you’re updating. Recipients can be added to specific gear types or across all types in that module.


Setting Alert Recipients by Gear Type

  1. Navigate to Settings → [Module Name] → Alert Recipients (e.g., Assets → Alert Recipients).

  2. You'll see a list of all gear types, including a category called General Alert for notices not tied to a specific item.

  3. To add recipients to a gear type:

    • Click the dropdown arrow next to the gear type.

    • Select Select Recipients for this Gear Type.

  4. Users will be split into two categories:

    • Required Recipients: Always receive alerts for this gear type.

    • Optional Recipients: Can be selected manually by the user posting the alert.


Adding Recipients to All Gear Types

  1. Click the dropdown arrow next to the Back button.

  2. Select Select Recipients for All Gear Types.

  3. Choose required and optional recipients for all gear types in the module.


How Alerts Work

  • When an alert is set during a scheduled or as-needed inspection, the selected recipients will receive a notification via email and/or text, based on their user settings.

  • This ensures timely awareness and action on any issue reported during a check.
