Pre-populate SCBA gear in on-truck checks
Packs, cylinders, and other SCBA can be auto-populated based on what was last logged in the location.
Summary
By default, PSTrax pre-fills SCBA gear in each position with the equipment that was last logged there. This saves time for crew members during truck checks, as they only need to select a new piece of gear if something has changed. However, some departments prefer to disable this setting and require users to manually select the SCBA pack and cylinder for every inspection to ensure the gear is physically verified each time.
Instructions
Departments can choose whether SCBA gear is automatically pre-filled during truck checks or if users must select gear manually. If your agency prefers to disable the auto-fill setting, just contact PSTrax Support and we’ll update the setting for you.
Customizing SCBA Gear Auto-Fill Behavior
-
Default Behavior (Enabled)
-
SCBA positions on each unit will automatically show the last gear logged in that position.
-
Users only change the pack or cylinder if it has physically changed (e.g., moved, taken out-of-service, etc.).
-
This speeds up daily and weekly SCBA checks.
-
-
Alternative Option (Disabled)
-
Gear positions do not pre-fill with previous selections.
-
Users must manually select the pack and cylinder for each position, every time.
-
This approach encourages full physical verification of SCBA gear.
-
If your agency prefers to disable the automatic pre-fill feature, contact help@pstrax.com and our team will update the setting in your system.
