Logging admin-only asset events

Log calibrations, testing, repairs, and more.

Summary

Assets administrators can log repairs, testing, calibrations, and other admin-only inspections through the Asset List. These events can be logged individually or in bulk and will update the asset history with notes, costs, attachments, and completion dates. Events with intervals will automatically reschedule.

Instructions

To log asset events such as hose testing or repairs, navigate to Assets → Asset List from the navigation panel. You can filter the asset list, perform batch logs, or log individual events, and attach relevant documentation such as work orders or invoices.

Logging Events in Bulk

  1. Go to Assets → Asset List.

  2. Use the Type filter to search for specific assets (e.g., Fire Hose).

  3. Select the checkboxes next to the items that were inspected or tested.

  4. Click Batch and choose Batch Log.

  5. From the Event dropdown, select the event type (e.g., Hose Testing).

  6. Backdate the event date to reflect when the testing occurred.

  7. Complete any inspection tasks, add notes, and input the location where the inspection was performed.

  8. Add the cost per item (not the total cost for all items).

  9. Optionally, attach a work order, invoice, or testing document.

  10. Click Log Event to save the inspection and update the gear history.

Logging Individual Events (e.g., Repairs)

  1. In the Asset List, find the item and click the dropdown arrow next to Details.

  2. Select Log Event.

  3. Choose the event type (e.g., Repair).

  4. Enter the event date, notes, and cost, and attach files if needed.

  5. Click Log Event.

Event Rescheduling and History

  • Events with an interval setup (like testing or calibration) will automatically reschedule to the next due date.

  • One-off events (like repairs) will not reschedule but remain logged for historical reference.

  • All event data can be accessed through the Details page of each asset or via Assets → Logs & Reports.
