Set up Vehicle & Station alert recipients
Make sure the appropriate users are set to receive notifications when issues occur.
Summary
Alert recipients in the Vehicle & Station module receive notifications via email or text whenever issues, malfunctions, or discrepancies are identified during checks. Administrators can customize alert recipients by alert category to ensure the right personnel are notified based on the type of alert. This setup helps streamline communication and ensures prompt response to vehicle and station issues.
Instructions
To set up and manage alert recipients, go to Settings → Vehicle and Station → Alert Categories and Recipients. You can add new alert categories, assign required or optional recipients, and customize notifications based on your department’s needs. Required recipients always receive alerts automatically, while optional recipients can be manually selected by users when posting an alert.
Add a New Alert Category

Navigate to Settings → Vehicle and Station → Alert Categories and Recipients.

Click the Add New Category button in the upper right corner.

Enter the name of the new alert category and save.
Assign Recipients to an Alert Category

Click the drop-down arrow next to the alert category name.

Select Select Recipients for This Category.

Choose recipients from two lists:

Required Recipients: Automatically notified for every alert posted in this category.

Optional Recipients: Users can manually select these individuals when setting an alert.

Best Practices for Setting Recipients

Set supervisors or department leads as Required Recipients for critical alerts.

Set shift-specific officers (A, B, C shifts) as Optional Recipients so users can choose the appropriate person during an alert.
What Happens When an Alert Is Set

Required recipients are immediately notified.

Optional recipients are notified only if the user manually selects them when posting the alert.
