Manage SCBA gear
Track SCBA inventory across the entire organization.
Summary
The SCBA Gear List provides a comprehensive view of all SCBA inventory within your organization. Administrators can access gear details, change statuses, log inspections, and manage assignments. This serves as the master list for all SCBA-related items.
Instructions
The SCBA Gear List allows users to search, filter, and organize SCBA inventory, as well as log inspections, update statuses, and retire gear.
Accessing the SCBA Gear List

Go to SCBA → Gear List from the navigation panel.

Use the search bar or the column filters to find specific items.

Click the column headers to sort data or drag and drop columns to reorder them.

To hide fields, click View and deselect the columns you don’t need.

To export the SCBA inventory, choose Print, Excel, or PDF.
Viewing Gear History

Click Details next to any SCBA item.

Set a date range and click View to see the full SCBA history, including:
- Inspections
- Status changes
- Assignments
Logging Events & Setting Alerts

Click the drop-down arrow next to Details.

Choose an option:
- Log Event – Record inspections, hydro tests, etc.
- Set Alert – Notify personnel of issues.
- Edit Gear Information – Modify SCBA details.
- Assign SCBA – Change the assignment.
- Change Status – Update SCBA status.
Batch Logging SCBA Events

Select multiple SCBA items.

Click Batch Log and choose an event (e.g., Hydro Test).

Enter details:
- Date of test
- Cost per cylinder
- Notes & attachments

Click Log Event to update records for all selected cylinders.
Retiring SCBA Gear

Locate the expired or out-of-service SCBA item(s).

Click Retire from the gear list (single item) or use Batch Retire (multiple items).

Retired gear moves to Settings → SCBA → Retired Gear, where all inspection history and records remain accessible.

Customizing the view
You can select and arrange the information you prefer to see on the SCBA Gear List to meet your specific preferences. Here's how:

The gear lists in PSTrax (PPE, SCBA, and Assets) can be customized to display only the information you need, in the order that makes the most sense for your workflow. Users can hide, rearrange, and reorder columns to create a personalized view that saves automatically for future logins.

You can hide columns, reorder fields, and save preferences automatically to optimize your gear list view.
Hiding Unused Columns

Navigate to PPE, SCBA, or Assets → Gear List from the navigation panel.

Click the View drop-down menu.

Deselect the columns you do not need (e.g., Badge, Home Station, Shift, or Description).

The selected columns will be hidden immediately from your view.
Reordering Columns

Click and hold a column header.

Drag and drop the column to your preferred location.
- Example: Move Status next to Assignment for easier tracking.
- Example: Move Next Due Date next to ID Field for quick reference.

Release the column in the new position.

The new order is saved automatically, and will remain the same each time you log in.
Saving Preferences
- All changes to your gear list view are saved automatically.
- Your preferred column arrangement will appear the same way next time you log in.
