Managing CS alerts
Stay on top of issues with your controlled substance checks.
Summary
Alerts in the Controlled Substance Module are used to notify users of issues, discrepancies, or significant events such as drug usage, low inventory levels, or transaction corrections. Alerts can be posted manually during inspections or set to generate automatically based on your department’s setup.
Instructions
Controlled substance alerts appear under the CS tab on the home screen. Users can review, acknowledge, and manage alerts directly from this section. Administrators can configure alert recipients to ensure proper personnel are notified.
Viewing & Managing Controlled Substance Alerts

Navigate to the home screen and click the CS tab to see open controlled substance alerts.

Select an alert to review details.

Choose from the following options:
- Add Comment – Provide additional information about the alert.
- Close Alert – Acknowledge and remove the alert once resolved.

If necessary, update notification settings by adding additional recipients before saving.

Click Save to remove the alert from the home screen.
Accessing Past Alerts & Open Alert Reports

Go to Controlled Substances → Logs & Reports → Alerts & Alert Archive.

Click View Open Alerts to see a department-wide table with search and filtering options.
Setting Up Alert Recipients

Navigate to Settings → Controlled Substances → Alert Recipients.

Choose a container (e.g., Medic One’s Drug Box) and click Select Recipients for This Container.

Assign users as:
- Required Recipients – Always receive notifications.
- Optional Recipients – Only receive notifications if selected when posting an alert.

To apply alert recipients to all containers, click the drop-down arrow at the top and select Recipients for All Containers.
Automatic Alert Notifications
- Alerts are sent via email or text, depending on user settings.
- Automatic alerts are recommended for Required Recipients to ensure critical notifications are always received.
