Logging scheduled PPE checks

Log PPE inspections when they come due in the schedule.

Summary

Scheduled PPE inspections in PSTrax are tied to individual users rather than specific stations or apparatus. When an inspection is due, it appears under the PPE card in the Schedule section of the home screen—regardless of which station the user is logged into.

Instructions

To complete scheduled PPE inspections, go to the Schedule page and find the PPE card. You can choose to inspect one item at a time or consolidate all scheduled inspections into a single list for efficiency.

Completing a Scheduled PPE Inspection

  1. Go to the PPE card under the Schedule section of the home screen.

  2. Choose how you’d like to begin:

    • Click the event name (e.g., Routine Inspection – Jacket) to open a single inspection.

    • Click Log All Gear to consolidate and complete all due PPE inspections in one list.

  3. For each task in the inspection:

    • Click the green check mark to mark it complete.

    • Where notes are required, enter the relevant details in the notes field.

    • Use the pencil icon to expand the notes section for optional updates.

  4. If there’s an issue or malfunction:

    • Click the alert icon to notify the appropriate personnel.

    • (Note: There’s a separate article on alerts, so we’ll bypass that here.)

  5. Add any event-level notes or attachments (e.g., photos, invoices, work orders) as needed.

  6. Click Log Event to complete the inspection.

  7. The system will reschedule the event for the next interval based on the department’s setup.
