Logging as-needed SCBA checks

Log SCBA inspections after an incident or any other time you need to.

    Summary

As needed SCBA events allow users to log inspections or maintenance tasks outside of the scheduled checklist rotation. These checks are useful for documenting equipment changes, battery replacements, flow tests, or other unexpected events.

    Instructions

You can log as needed SCBA events directly from the unit or by accessing the SCBA gear list. Whether it's an inspection following a call or an admin-level repair, these events ensure your records stay accurate and up to date.

Logging an As Needed SCBA Event from a Unit

    1. Navigate to the Schedule section and locate the unit where the SCBA gear is assigned.
    2. Click the As Needed link below the number of SCBA checks due.
    3. Choose the SCBA checklist you want to complete (usually one option).
    4. Find the position (e.g., Engineer) and select the correct pack and cylinder from the dropdown.
    5. Click Retrieve Items to load the inspection tasks.
    6. Complete the inspection:
      • Click the green checkmarks for each item.
      • Set an alert if there's a malfunction or issue.
      • Add comments in the notes field if required.
    7. Click Log All Checked Items to complete the entry.

Note: Logged items will show in red, indicating they've already been completed that day. You can log items multiple times if needed. The selected gear will also update in the unit's scheduled checklist automatically.

Logging Maintenance Events from the SCBA Gear List

    1. Navigate to SCBA → Gear List in the navigation panel.
    2. Use the filters or search bar to locate the item.

    4. Select the event type (e.g., Battery Replacement, Flow Test).
    5. Input notes, upload any attachments, and click Log Event.

    Logging Events in Bulk

    1. From the SCBA gear list, select the checkboxes next to each item.
    2. Click Batch Log, choose your event, and add shared notes or attachments.
    3. Click Log Event to apply it to all selected gear items.
