Summary

Color-coding vehicle and station checklists in PSTrax can help crews quickly identify different types of units or differentiate between checklist categories. These colors are visible to all users across the department and can only be updated by users with the appropriate permissions.

Instructions

Checklist header colors can be changed through the Edit Details menu of each unit. This customization is commonly used to visually separate vehicle types, distinguish station checks from apparatus checks, or match the checklist color with the physical unit. These changes are department-wide and require “Manage Vehicle Details” permissions.

How to Change Checklist Colors

  1. Go to Settings → Vehicle & Station List in the navigation panel.

  2. Locate the unit you'd like to modify and click the Actions drop-down menu.

  3. Select Edit Details.

  4. Under the Header Color option, choose the desired color from the palette.

  5. Click Save to apply the change.

Common Use Cases for Color Coding

  • Vehicle Type Separation:
Assign red to suppression units, blue to medic units, etc.

  • Checklist Type Distinction:
Use one color for station checks and a different color for vehicle checks.

  • Matching Physical Units:
Color the checklist header to match the color of the physical vehicle for quicker recognition.

Only users with “Manage Vehicle Details” permission can update these settings. If you'd like help setting up or adjusting checklist colors, reach out to help@pstrax.com.
