Adding PSTrax to your mobile device

Add a shortcut to PSTrax on your phone or tablet to quickly access the site with just a tap.

 

While PSTrax does not have a native app that can be downloaded from your device's app store (see why here), you can save a shortcut to your phone or tablet so you can quickly access the site. This creates an icon that looks like a native app, which you can rearrange/organize in any manner you wish. See the instructions below for adding PSTrax to your Apple or Android device.

Adding shortcut to IOS devices

Summary

On iPhones and iPads, you can create a website shortcut from Safari that appears on your home screen like an app. Tapping the icon will launch the website in its own Safari window, mimicking an app experience.

Instructions

This uses the Safari browser on iOS, as it's the only browser that supports this type of shortcut behavior.

Open the Website in Safari

  1. Launch the Safari app on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Go to app1.pstrax.com.

  3. Tap the Share icon (a square with an upward arrow) at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Scroll down in the share sheet and tap "Add to Home Screen."
  5. You’ll see a preview of the icon and the page name. You can change the name if you want it to appear differently on your home screen.
  6. Tap "Add" in the top-right corner.
  7. The icon will now appear on your home screen and open the site in a standalone Safari view—just like an app.

Adding shortcut on Android Devices

Instructions

This process uses your mobile web browser (usually Chrome) to create the shortcut and place it on your home screen.

Open the Website in Chrome

  1. Open Google Chrome on your Android phone.
  2. Navigate to app1.pstrax.com
  3. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of Chrome.
  4. Choose "Add to Home Screen."
  5. Tap "Install app" (PSTrax is a Progressive Web App).
  6. The shortcut will now appear on your home screen like an app. Tapping it will open the website
